Work in historic context We are experienced in conservation and conversion of historically important buildings. The practice routinely works on Listed buildings. Recent work includes:- Surveying and photographic scheduling of features in a grade II* listed convent in Knowle, Bristol, an Arts & Crafts movement design by J D Sedding, and conversion of part of the building into 13 sheltered housing units. We believe solutions should be appropriate to their location and context, and that this does not necessarily mean reproduction of historical features. The conversion of the old river police station on Bristol's listed quay side is an example of an energy-efficient, modern design in an historic context, and which has recently received a Civic Society award for its contribution to the townscape.
