Inscape
Architects was formed in 1982, and incorporated as a limited company
in 2001. In 2008 the practice was reformed as Inscape Richards
Architects by the founding partner Mike Richards and relocated
into new offices.
Mike
Richards has now retired from architectural practice and the Inscape
Richards Architects Ltd ceased trading in 2011. Mike is involved in community projects and continues
his interests in sustainable building design giving talks illustrated
by reference to new and refurbished projects, regulations, controls
and measured performance. On the basis of his architectural work
the Royal West of England Academy elected him as an academician
in 2011. He is a director of the Festival of Stone CIC and responsible
for project co-ordination of the successful 10 day Bristol
Festival of Stone 2013
The practice had broad experience covering projects in the following
fields :

nursing & residential homes
housing in public and private sectors
special needs housing
industrial and commercial
Buildings
were designed with low energy use, for a sustainable and long
life using renewable resources.
The practice has received various local amenity society commendation
& awards, short listed by the RIBA national awards including:

Fine Art Commission Trust and Sky B Sky Building of the
Year Award 'Jeu d'Esprit'
Civic
Trust 40th anniversary Awards - commendation "valuable
contribution to the appearance and quality of the environment"
Civic
Society Award - "contribution to townscape"
TV
companies have used several of our projects as contemporary settings
for popular series, for instance The Riverstation restaurant,
Priors Field & Yew Tree houses. Our work has featured in both
local press and nationally, including the Sunday Times, Ideal
Home, Grand Designs, RIBA Interiors & Self Build & Design.
The
Inscape Richards Ltd ceased trading in 2011.
