We have been involved in many sheltered, elderly persons and nursing home schemes. Provision of medical facilities has included:-
At the Royal London Hospital, the brief for new dining and rest rooms for the hospital staff called for the insertion of a new and highly serviced extension adjacent to an existing nurses' residence. Care was taken to blend the new with the old, using the existing palette of materials with a contemporary approach.
Helios medical centre
Converted from a large 1930's house in fine gardens to a place of welcome and calm. Major engineering work lowered the basement to provide a suite of therapy and counselling rooms, and the medical practice's philosophy of healing through nature and art was reflected in the extensive use of sympathetic materials and finishes.
Nursing
Home, Abbots Leigh, Bristol
Our work original work consited of the conversion of the Manor House conference
centre into a 36 bed nursing home. Seven years later we completed the
design for a 3 storey extension containing a further 36 individual bedrooms
with ancillary accommodation, and obtained full planning permission.
